Using VASP on LANTA

This workshop provides an introduction to using the VASP software on the LANTA HPC system. The session will cover topics including an overview of VASP modules on LANTA, creating batch job scripts for running VASP jobs through the SLURM scheduler, and best practices for running VASP on LANTA. This workshop is intended for participants with prior experience using VASP.

By the end of this course, attendees will know how to:

  • Use pre-installed VASP modules on LANTA

  • Able to run VASP on LANTA (MPI, MPI+Openmp, GPU)

  • Parallelization setting in VASP

  • Best practices for running VASP on LANTA

Prerequisites:

  • Successfully login to LANTA HPC

  • Experience with the basic Linux command

  • Basic knowledge of the LANTA supercomputer

  • Access to the VASP modules on LANTA is required to participate in the hands-on activities. Please refer to Access restricted software for further information.

If the above criteria have NOT been met, we recommend the potential participants to go through Introduction to LANTA HPC beforehand.
